Always a reader. Writing to remember and to share my thoughts on the books I read.
Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison by Piper Kerman is the memoir of the thirteen months Piper spent in prison after conviction on a drug charge. It describes the institution, the prison system, and the people she found there. It follows her journey until her release. The book is entertaining, but I am left wanting to know the more serious story behind the comedy and wanting to know what happened after her release.
