Always a reader. Writing to remember and to share my thoughts on the books I read.
Hyacinth Girls by Lauren Frankel takes on the issue of bullying through a parent's and a teenager's eyes. The book does an excellent job of capturing the desperation and the lack of understanding of both parent and child. It muddies the conversation by including other story lines, but at same time, really drives home the point that a lot can happen in a teen's life without the parents ever being aware of it.
